Great Packing Day!

We had a great turnout today!  Shallowford restocked the food pantry for us and we got a few new items...cranberry juice cans, tuna, and rice.  In addition, fresh apples were donated for today, so the students will have fresh fruit in their bags for the weekend.  Additionally, we had a Mercer student and her mom come and join us for packing.  Thank you to all that came today!!  :)

Packing on Wednesday

We had our first Wednesday packing today!  We were not quite sure how it would affect the volunteers' schedule, so Maja and Caitlin had a few of their students join us.  According to some of the boys in Maja's 5th grade class, it was a "Girls' Night!"  The girls seem to have a great time and did an awesome job in helping to count the products for the bins.

Even though it was not our normal packing day, the turnout was great!  Because there were so many helping hands, we finished quickly.  Thank you to everyone who came out to help!

Mercer University

We got amazing news today.....a new partnership has formed between Mercer University and Bountiful Bags!  We are extremely excited and greatful for the path that has led to this partnership.

The following is an excerpt from a letter we received today...

"Since learning about the great need at Indian Creek, Project Can Do has decided to join forces with Bountiful Bags for one food drive and possibly one clothing drive this spring.  The food drive begins TODAY, collecting food until Friday, March 2nd."

Thank you so much, Mercer University!

PACKING DAY HAS MOVED FOR NEXT WEEK ONLY

Because school will be closed next Friday, we are moving the packing day from Thursday, February 16 to Wednesday, February 15.  The time will still be 7:00pm.  This way the students will still get their bags for the long weekend.  If there are any questions about the change, please don't hesitate to contact us! :)

New Products :)

This week, the students will have new food items in their bags...thanks to Dave and his helpers!  The volunteers were awesome and everyone was just having a great time packing and getting to know each other while helping students at Indian Creek.

The volunteers from Shallowford and Memorial Drive have always been gracious in donating their time to help us.  But, it makes us extra happy when we know that our colleagues and students support us too!  Thanks to Maja, Stephanie, Adam, Pupu, and Bay Da for their support :)
